Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Oh yikes!!! My has it been a while since I have updated my blog. Due to some other work commitments I can most definitely say I am ashamed I've kept this neglected. But going back ... to a time of sun and fun, I wanted to share my experience at the Veuve Polo Classic this year. If you love champs as much as I do, you will really appreciate the great effort Veuve Clicquot puts into its Polo Classic each year. This year my husband and I, along with a couple of our friends hit up the event I've been trying to make it to for years.

The event was held at the Will Rogers State Park in the Pacific Palisades. If you grew up in the 90s like I did, you will know that the hit tv show Saved By the Bell was set in the Palisades. Ohhh what good times! Getting back to the classic, I would say if you have not been to it yet ... GO! Either go with a group of girl friends, or as couples, but make the effort, get dressed, and GO! This event is very themed. I must say everyone met the dress code attire which was pretty sun dresses and hats for the ladies, and linen suits for the men. We bought ourselves some tickets and made our way via UBER (to be safe of course) and the line for the regular line was not bad given the fact that we showed up an hour late. However, do buy your tickets super early because it does sell out very quickly and you cannot purchase tickets at the door.

Once we entered the event, the music was beaming, the food trucks were all packed, and everyone was picking out a place to picnic. I really wanted a Veuve Clicquot picnic blanket, and I figured we would eat the yummy food at the food trucks so we really went empty handed. A few things I would do differently next time would be to pack food. The food at the trucks were really not that great, and the lines were ridiculously long. I mean like 45 mins longgggg. Secondly, I would pack my own blanket. The blanket we purchased was really not all that, I was slipping and sliding all over the place, and it cost $100 (kind of a ripoff).

We did splurge on a few bottles, so sip on your champs, enjoy the polo match if that's why you're going, and have fun with your friends! Again, what makes this event so fun are the colorful outfits and the picnic theme so embrace that if you decide to attend next year. Oh and the event is held in Los Angeles every October.
